Department Overview The Global Ad Technology Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and UK. By our data-driven technologies we empower both advertisers and publishers in creating effective partnerships to successfully reach consumers and accelerate performance. Our group is responsible for working with Business Units and Development / Tech Teams, in the following areas: product management, support troubleshooting communication and reporting as well as creation and/or delivery of new product. It is very important to have a business perspective and work closely with the stakeholders to deliver clear requirements as to release quality products with value to our customers. Why We Hire This time, we are looking for a product manager to join our team. We expect this person to be the product owner of the existing affiliate platform, who communicates closely with the development and business teams, to maximize the value of the product resulting from the work of both teams. Position Details The position is mainly responsible for: - Managing development requests from various stakeholders. - Managing and ordering product backlog items - Responding to incident and communicating the impact to stakeholders. - Keeping up with the latest advertising trend, technologies, and solutions. - Ensuring project delivery by working with the Tech Lead & Engineering Manager. - Understand business issues / opportunities and develop & provide solutions while managing resources and priorities to maximize the outcomes / achievements.
- At least 5 years of experience in product management. - Communication skill to keep various stakeholders on the same page. - Proven experience of troubleshooting and data analysis. - Proven experience working in an agile team. - Understanding of advertising technologies and solutions. - English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
- Experience as a project manager working with cross-functional teams. - Familiar with Agile practices e.g., writing user stories, developing acceptance criteria. - Scrum certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner, Certified Scrum Master). - Have general Web-related operational or development experience. - Have a mindset to be proactive and have a passion for continuous improvement. - Desire to deepen EN communication skills
