Our department is responsible for developing and providing tools and services necessary for the operation of each merchant, regardless of their genre, industry, or size, in order to enable the diverse merchants on Rakuten Ichiba to thrive in e-commerce and provide customers with the experience of "Shopping is Entertainment". We operate an app store called "RMS Service Square" to support merchant clients in managing their businesses. We also provide assistance to partner companies offering solutions on the platform. Furthermore, we offer APIs to facilitate smooth shop operations and support partners in developing and delivering high-quality solutions. By connecting merchants and partners, we contribute to the success of our merchant.   Position: Why We Hire We provide APIs for Rakuten Ichiba merchants and partner companies to manage their stores. While the utilization of APIs is progressing, the usability of APIs, communication with API users, and the definition of roles and collaboration with the internal API team are not yet sufficiently organized. Therefore, we are looking for a Product Manager who can devise and implement strategies to provide better services. Upon joining our team, you will be involved in the service and strategy planning, operation, and development of APIs and their gateways used by Rakuten Ichiba merchants and partners. There will also be many opportunities to propose improvements and future visions.   Position Details Job Overview: As a Product Manager for the operation of Rakuten Ichiba's OpenAPI and its API Gateway, you will be responsible for establishing the vision, mission, and strategy for OpenAPI, redefining the role of API Gateway, forming agreements with internal API stakeholders, organizing existing tasks, defining future tasks, creating product roadmaps, and managing backlogs. Job Details: - Creating the vision, mission, and strategy for OpenAPI - Redefining the role of API Gateway and forming agreements with stakeholders - Organizing existing tasks and defining future tasks - Competitor research - Communication with OpenAPI users (external & internal) and service improvement based on their feedback. - Creating product roadmaps - Managing backlogs - Operations and maintenance Benefits and Attraction: There are opportunities to promote the use of APIs and take Rakuten Ichiba's business to the next level. You can work with internal development teams and stakeholders to improve service and streamline operations. Stakeholders: Development team, product managers, project managers, security team, and others.   Work Environment You will be joining a team of six members in the API Gateway team, which includes engineers and project managers. You will frequently communicate with the Product Managers of the internal API team to advance work. While the work environment is mainly in English, Japanese (reading and writing) is used for communication with API users.

Required skills & Experience

Basic qualifications

- 3+ years of experience in web service product management - Experience in discussing with product teams and stakeholders with different positions, and driving the decision on product direction - Experience in advancing projects by involving team members and stakeholders - Experience in project management of web service development - Experience in creating and prioritizing product backlogs - Communication with engineers to realize the product backlog - Discovery of issues in the service operation process and its improvement - English (Business level) - Japanese (Business level reading and writing) Additional information on English Qualification - TOEIC 800

Preferred qualifications

- Experience in planning, designing, developing, or operating API Gateway and API management - Knowledge or experience in communication with API users - Experience in project development and operation using cloud services - Experience in clarifying product vision and formulating a roadmap for realization with stakeholders - Experience in setting and analyzing service KPIs, and improving the product based on it - Experience in devising ways to obtain user feedback and improving the product based on feedback - Experience in identifying issues based on user hearings and improving the service - Experience in web service system development - Management experience of engineers, designers, etc. - Experience in development in a Scrum team
