Machine Learning Engineer
Job Description
You will be in charge of research and development of AI technology with a focus on natural language processing. Your main work will be "contracted development," and you will be assigned to a project and work as a team to handle the project. You may also be assigned to "product development" or to multiple projects. - Contracted development: Under the supervision of the project manager, develop and verify AI technologies to solve client issues, and aim to put them into actual operation. - Product development: Developing our own AI engine for use in contracted projects. Most of our contracted projects are prime projects, and we can be involved in all processes from proposal to actual operation. For example, in contracted development, you will perform the following tasks as a team of several people. - Identification of issues faced by the client and examination and proposal of technical solutions - Technical research through international conferences, papers, etc. - Analysis and visualization of client data - Implementing, verifying, and evaluating the performance of technical methods such as deep learning and machine learning with a focus on natural language processing - Technical consultation with Hokkaido University professor who is our technical advisor - Report writing and reporting Department Information - Mentoring system is available, where you can consult and discuss about your project and thesis with a university professor. - We are a venture company from Hokkaido University, so we can take advantage of our knowledge of academia and cutting-edge technology.
Required skills & Experience
Basic qualifications
- Expertise in natural language processing, text mining, and unstructured data analysis - Advanced knowledge of AI techniques such as deep learning, machine learning, optimization algorithms, etc., and experience with these techniques - Development experience in Python, R, C++, etc. (at least 2-3 years in one of these areas) - Native level of Japanese
Preferred qualifications
- Those who are in research at doctoral level or have equivalent knowledge - Researchers who are working in corporate research laboratories - Experience in international publications (IJCAI, AAAI, etc.) - Experience in technical discussions such as requirement definition with external parties - Experience in team development - Interest and experience in GPT and other LLM-related topics - Experience winning prizes in competitions such as Kaggle, SIGNATE, etc.
